Absorbing influences from Chicago and avant-garde minimalism, Daniel Bell (DBX, Cybersonik) crafted a sound that reshaped the course of electronic music. Stripping the style to its bare bones, Bell helped define what would become known as minimal techno. His pioneering production offers unique insight into what the true sound of the genre was built on: a solid, maddening level of groove.

Tracks like Losing Control became genre cornerstones, and while minimal techno eventually grew into a global phenomenon—at times diluted and misinterpreted—Bell’s work remained a benchmark for those who understood that a stripped-down approach, placing substance over spectacle, redefined the possibilities of electronic music.
